Drayke's Travels

It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door.

Instagram Photo: “Ba-a-a-a.” That’s “Greetings from the cliffs of Slieve League, Ireland” in the native tongue of the majority

It is a very “Touristy” thing to incessantly photograph sheep while traveling in and around Ireland. However, as I walked along the cliffs of Slieve League at this particular point, this sheep was staring very intently at me while I passed. That, in addition to the lovely backdrop, seemed like too precious a photo opportunity to pass up.

After snapping the offending photo, I looked up to find two gentlemen smiling  in my direction. They greeted me as they passed and we fell into a bit of conversation. The Irish gentleman explained that he’d just been telling his German friend about how much Americans love to take pictures of sheep in Ireland, at which point they spotted a tall American girl doing just that. They were very friendly about it, and we all had a good laugh, and they agreed that my photo with the ocean in the background was indeed worth taking, even if it was of a common sheep.

Some things are worth looking like a tourist for.
