Camping Begins
13 December ’21
In mid-December, after recovering from an altercation with an electric scooter, I traveled south to Natchez Trace Tennessee, and Arley, Alabama. This was my first time camping at actual campgrounds instead of in driveways and backyards.
- Lovely views of Tennessee in winter.
- Spotted a lot of interesting rigs at this park, including what I would call "tiny homes."
- More Solo Stove ramen. This time I used the dedicated pan.
- Used a fair amount of salvaged fuel.
- This pan has a taller partner, and when they're put together they fit around the stove itself.
- My second stay was in Arley Alabama. I set out that rug though I didn't really need it.
- I found an old bridge nearby.
- There were signs warning about snakes, but I didn't see any. It was probably too cold.
- This bridge had a decent slope on both sides of it. Fortunately I only had to take the camper up and down it twice.
- The views of the lake at Arley were nice, especially during sunset.
- I collected one pinecone as a souvenir.
