Maiden Voyage
24 August ’21
In August I finally found a tow vehicle for my camper.
It’s a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel. It has more than enough power to pull my camper even if I need to accelerate onto the highway, though I try to avoid that to keep the MPGs low.
I took the camper down to Bloomington for GenCon, and parked it at my buddy’s house for a couple weeks.
- Ready to roll out.
- I got some stickers from my favorite camping anime "Yuru Camp" to put on the bumper.
- I bought a floor chair to replace the factory cushions on the dinette for my workspace. It's a little tight with the podcasting gear set up, but it works great.
- My buddy Pat had a spare ticket to the IU game, and we got caught on TV! Next time I'll wear red, I promise...
- Menard's has a weird definition of "Outdoor Recreation"
- RV Life Lesson Number One: Don't plug your 15 Amp connection into a 5 Amp extension cord. Fortunately this ruined cord was the only damage, both the rig and my buddy's garage were unharmed.
