Instagram: Sunset from Innisheer

Photo taken at: Inis Oirr, Arann Islands

After the ferry tour of the Cliffs, we took another Ferry to Inisheer. This is the smallest of the Aran islands, and the site of our airbnb for Saturday between weeks 2 and 3.

After watching for the dolphin who we discovered lives near the dock at the island, we checked into our room and walked westward looking for a good sunset over the next island over.

I also got a sweet slowmo clip of the ocean crashing.

The landscape on the western side is very rocky, but quite peaceful. In the end we almost missed the sunset when we went back to the room to drop my camera and go find some food/beer. I did manage to get a shot with my phone though.

We went on to discover that the only restaurant still open had stopped serving food at 9pm. I think this is common in Europe but particularly inconvenient on an island with no emergency amenities like convenience stores or fast food.

Anyway we got peanuts at the pub and had a couple Jameson Gingers and listened to some traditional Irish music before walking back and getting some sleep.
